2013 MSPCA Walk for Animals

What a great time we all had  at the MSPCA Methuen Walk for Animals yesterday!

This was a year of ‘firsts.” It was the first Walk that’s been held at Nevins Farm and it went really well! This was the first time the birds have had their own fundraising team and we raised $2150! We also shared a table with the awesome Small Animals Rock team, which gave us the opportunity to spread the word about our amazing birds at Nevins Farm. Finally, it was the first year that we’ve had parrot meet & greets, and Theoden the Umbrella Cockatoo was a big hit! Theoden spent the day being adored, petted and loved, and he loved every minuted of it!

We are already thinking about how we can do even better for the 2014 Walk for Animals! If you are interested in joining the SOAR Birds team for 2014, or wish to donate to our team, please contact us using the form below, or email us at soarbirds.info@gmail.com for more information.

Arya Jeyne

arya - 12-12

I’m Arya Jeyne, a one year old cockatiel who was adopted from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm when I was two months old.  I was an orphan and I lived at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm until my Mom found me and took me home. At Nevins, they were very nice to me and my brother Jaime, taking very good care of us and of all the other birds. When I’d just turned one, I got very sick. My Mom took me to Angell Animal Medical Center and they made me better, even though the odds were against me! I’m well now, and very happy in my forever home. I have two brothers, Thor and Theoden, and we get along really well!

The owner of Cricket (now Lulu) sent a wonderful email to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, thanking the shelter for the adoption of cricket. Cricket is no longer plucking, enjoying her new home and learning Spanish. We’re so happy to hear that Lulu is so happy in her forever home!
